Gettin there .. and havin gotten there .

These last few days of August really take the cake for excitement . LoL .

June saw MANY of us sluggin' it out and sloggin' for our " fast track " awards and 4 from our Famille hittin' it . Their Travel packs comin' down yesterday Friday28th Aug'09 in their pigeons' holes . For the UNfortunate few who've missed it , GOOD NEWS !!!! =
chances are .... you'll NEVER hit it anymo' .

"Why Why WHYYYYYYYY ?!?!?! " you may ask ? it's 'cause Fast Track is a chance to introduce NEW advisors to the wonderful world of Incentive Trips or letting veteran advisors who've NEVER Qualified for any trips in their careers to experience the Magic . Hence as long as you haven't gotten FastTrack or just missed it ......... by 3 days !!!
Like our Dear Brother Alan !!! ( Shakes head and smiles to self in demonstration of Disbelief )... Then as soon as you hit Quality Club Elite / A & H challenges ... no mo' Fast Track .

August saw many comin close to the 19,000 A&H challenge and hittin it and comin short and RE-hittin it and Comin short again and finally hittin it again for some ... Why Ley ? Can't be helped , check out John's and wing's Blogs for explanation . NOT Our Fault hor .. and just in case those who're readin this say submit Earlier Mah ..... Here's news for you ..... We DID !!! Some as early as July .



Know what's the Wonderful Thing about Life Tho' ? It's the Journey that counts .... Not our Final Destinations . So Smell the flowers and admire the scenery along the way .

Know what're the Differences and Similarities that our individual Career Paths have when compared to Life tho' ?


When we're Gettin there we usually don't have too much time to look around and admire the sights and views .
When we've gotten there is when we spend time to take in all the sights , smells and sounds ...

First Off , a warm welcome back to our Brother Alan !!!

Time really does fly , doesn't it ? In the Blink of an eye it's August the 18th Already and you're back with the Famille that holds you dear and you hold dearly as well .

We could Really use some help , not just from you as i so callously stated in your Blog but from each and Everyone !

June saw many of us fighting towards Fasttrack and all hitting it .
As it stands , John , Danny , Wing and Lauren have cleared fasttrack and Brother Alan has just missed the dateline by 3 days ... 3 DAYS !!! MAN can you believe that ?? LOL . no worries Bro , as far as i'm concerned , you've cleared , so we'll see you in Bangkok all the same !

July saw us standing our ground , BANDing together , Arms Locked and Facing the same direction and refusing to bend to external factors or forces that would seek to dampen our spirits , increase our workloads or bully and threaten us into submission ... INDOMITABLE's what we are .

August once again sees many of us come to life !! and striving towards the A and H challenge .. Seoul here we come !!!
Danny , wing , john , Alan and Kristy are more or less tied at around the 12,000 to 13,000 mark .
Uncle Sam is as yet closest to said finishing line of 19,000 at around 15,000 plus and
Lauren leads the rest in the below 10,000 group .
Do NOT give up nor Despair , ALL of you !!!
That does NOT , in any sense , hint that the fight is done or our fates are sealed , etched in stone .

Keep in mind tho' , that the cut off for Shield plans is on the 20th of this month so fight on Family members !

Here's wishing all who're fighting all the Best and to have the clarity of mind to know that nothing great ever came easy .
To have the Wisdom to understand that what you put focus and attention on WILL grow .
To have the Discipline to , when you're so sorely tempted to give up and try again , NOT to do so but persist till the end of the month .


NOW .. For some of you , you already have 1 of the 4 trips PROMISED to you in the Bag.
Regardless of who That someone was , whoever that is who introduced you to this career months back . Some of you will soon get the second trip in your shopping bag as well , it seems .
Make no mistake tho' , even if you're interested in NONE of these trips , the trips actually serve a FAR Nobler purpose ........ To help you keep track of your journey in this career . Be it in Growth and Development in Character OR Finances . [ kachink kachink $$ !!! ]

Leading By Example , Myth .... Or Fact ?

That was the focus of a pretty heated Debate i had with a fellow manager/Facilitator in Prudential This week .

Her : ...How can i ask someone to do a starclub when i've NEVER done one myself ??
Me : If that was true then you've doomed yourself and whoever joins you to NEVER achieve anything more than a QC in their careers . i'd strongly advise anyone keen to join your "family" to drop the notion !how will they feed themselves ??

Her : But you look at my Boss , She motivates me . She Inspires me . I should be a better leader .. i'll NEVER be like her ! *sighs*
Me : Why you wanna live in her shadow ? *Guffaws* Why [should ] be a better leader ? i don't wanna be a second rate / imitation Zinc , Tony Low Or Raymond Tan ! Even though they're the ones i always run to for advise or to save my impulsive ass and i respect and admire them !!!i constantly strive to REMAIN a 1st rate Kenneth Chiew and you know what ?? i Always succeed at it and i'm most Definitely happy all the time !!! O_O

Her : How do you and zinc get your agency and the peeps UNDER you two to come on time , and stay as motivated and driven as i've observed them over these past 8 months ? Teach me .. pRease ..
Me : Baby i can't man , you're crazay .. Battle at Kruger .

Good Morning La Famille !!!!!!!
Now some of you might be readin this post in the Afternoon so Good Afternoon !!
To those who happen to see this post in the Evening Good Evening !!!
and well some of you may be readin it at night sOoOoo ... well you get my Drift .

In the early hours of this morning the 30thJuly2009 , La Famille members such as Uncle Samson , Wing and Kristy went in search of a new , widely untapped and as such , potentially Lucrative market . I shan't name it lest others who read our websites venture there as with so many of the things we do these days , there're those who TRY to copy our ideas wholesale ... even our appearances . That's when you know you're on the right path , our Beloved sisters and Brothers !

Suffice to say that our Elite Recce team ventured out at around .. 10pm on the night of the 29TH and didn't return till say 4 am the next day . Even a young , attractive lady like Kristy so i do apologise here to her Fiance .

Now just in case all of you are wonderin if Bro-Ken has Finally lost it in the sense what's THE " Battle @ Kruger " got to do with all of this ?

Enter Battle At Kruger possibly on YOUTUBE and you will see the Harsh reality of life , and while it may be visually disturbing to the meek .. i pray that you all can finish the footage and read some of the comments afterwards .. It is potentially the Biggest event in the world of Nature Documentary . As with ALL Miracles , everyone will inevitably take a different view .

The people who're feelin down and out will probably play it down , as with all the other minuscule Miracles already existent in their lives !
Those who're constantly in search of Beauty and Joy though , may watch it and weep tears of Bewilderment afterwards ...

Actions speak louder than words .

Here's some takes i have on yesterdays events .
Esther ,
you need to maintain that internal Drive and motivation . Which you're not gonna have if you CONTINUOUSLY and INCESSANTLY give reasons to yourself why you're not great YET when you're working amidst such Greats as Cara Liu and Lam Yi lee .

Put Lauren , Danny , Kristy or John with them [ so named here because these are the "i want to be number one " members of our Famille ] and i Guarantee you they'll try to match [ initially ] then attempt to beSt these legends [eventually ].Perhaps it's time to switch your single spot out and request permission for one of these 4 to start joining them for activities instead .
It especially frightens me when you seem to not just settle with the mindset of being second best but Third even as was demonstrated by your comments and questions recently such as " ... will you be ok with it if i'm ok with Lauren being Number 1 , Kor ? "

Go read Lauren and Kristy's exchange .See with your own eyes how Kristy , a newcomer then , aspires , DARES ... to be the BEST and how Graciously , and out of so much concern and LOVE Lauren in return welcomes Kristy's Lofty aspirations and says , in not so many words ..." bring it on "


Reasons and comments such as "they have done it before " , "i have still so much to learn" , "EVENTUALLY i'll be like them " or "they're there already " are some No-Nos that i hope i never hear you say . You make them sound like they're so distant .


Or like some of the words we heard in your APS speech earlier this year " i'm young ", " just graduated " , " dunno how i did it even tho i'm all alone and no one to run with me "
**cries on stage**.


When you requested one day after you returned from FASTTRACK to speak to zinc , you cried and said you envied teams like ALvis Thor's , Grace Kong's cos they go for trips together , work together but here , it was just you .Ask zinc NOW , how she feels in hindsight ?

Oh how you wished you had what they had , a team that works and plays ,LAUGHS and CRIES , suffers and celebrates together . EVERYTHING ... TOGETHER .

While this Famille is bonding , starting to form .. we're still growing ... still in our infancy , still fragile ... and in need of each and everyone we can get , every iota of strength we MUST muster to help keep it together and strong ... WHERE have you been , Dear Esther ? WHERE ARE you still ?

You who seemed so much to have wanted a family of your own .Seemed to have dreamt the same dreams Lisa , Zinc , Wing , Lauren , Alan , Kristy , Danny , Kristen , Phyllis Dreamt .
YOU as part of the pioneers who are tryin everything they can to grow US ... WHERE were you ? Where ARE you still ?

i don't see you joining the activities your famille is running ... do you ?


Should you miss your goals at the end of this year again , just like you did last year ... you Don't need a THOUSAND reasons so Stop Lying to yourself , victimising yourself , Esther . Stop Giving Excuses , Stop with the Reasons , Stop with the Leeway to yourself so that incidents like
[I am sorry that I forgot to prepare the survey forms that caused a delay in the start of the project. We only got to start at close to 8.30am. ] can Stop happening .


If you're truly grateful for our efforts and care , would you forget ? it hints , like so many things you do .. of lip service ... nothing more , nothing less .


IF you truly want to succeed , you just need that ONE reason ... no need for external reminders , reasons , factors etc etc ....

cos to this day , i remember my moment .

"i will have ...." . "i will attain ......." or " they can only hope to contain me , they cannot stop me " . These are what are known as moments of Brilliance by the entertainment industry , moments worth an oscar nomination ... Difference is .. in life ... whether you get the OSCAR or not depends on your performance thereafter ... First class ? Lacklustre ? or worst still ... simply Amateur acting , OVERacting at times ... and missing the "feel of the moment "


Your comrades' weak smiles yesterday didn't mean [ MY what a bestest day in the whole wide world !!! ] , they meant as long as some of us get something outta this , this day and my personal sacrifices have NOT been in vain . i seriously doubt one mirrors those expressions with
[ Yo!!! how's everything man ? cool !!! Let's hang out on Friday !!! ONs ?!?! ] ~ Classic lack of SQ , EQ , empathy , sympathy . Some of us would even suspect you did that on purpose , if we didn't know you better .


They who're TRULY sad lets few know they are .

They who're TRULY adamant about success focus on mirroring the successful .Not on how successful/clever they already are themselves .

They who're TRULY kind wish to reach out to all with their kindness but yet inevitably always seem to play down what they do or try to hide said acts of kindness .

HOWEVER ...They who WANT everyone around them to think ... THINK !... that they're Stressed and Sad , wear it on their faces and actions , in the hopes someone asks them why ,so that they may begin their stories and Fables . Legends even , of how Great they once WERE , just as so many taxi drivers do .


They who demonstrate wisdom often seek to share love , joy and concern with ALL or lessons and means in their attainment ... falls , woes and worries ...Those are their selfishly Guarded PERSONAL realities .

Tomorrow's OUR small little meeting ... make your own choices ... and pay for their consequences like an adult would . Should .

Respect has to be EARNED , it cannot be demanded .
There's NO seniority here in this Famille .

The ones who constantly try to lift this Famille to Greater heights and increase overall or individual Productivity with their efforts and ideas would UNdoubtedly draw respect and appreciation , admiration from the rest who're striving , fighting for that same dream .

Similarly if there was anyone who Betrays , sabotages our efforts or constantly try to show they're better than the rest of us by only working with other's who seem to be more familiar with the path to success yet brings nothing back to help their peers ... well let's just say we aren't blind to that either .

Life's a show , an act , a play or Drama and the world it's stage , like so many greats have said .

It's sad when so many aspiring actors OVERACT ... becomes UNnatural and sometimes even ... spoils the whole damn movie .

Abuse ? Alterations and Understanding .

Finished Project [ STEP UP ] surprisingly early , back in office and Bloggin at 1345 hrs . just goes to show a concentrated and well orchestrated effort can produce insane results . 10 names each , quality ones , and for wing , this number means 30 .

Today i witnessed MANY things in that few hours at Raffles place ...
i've seen how the sky lights up in the CBD area .
i've seen how members in the family try to egg/urge each other on towards success .
i've seen how , for a cause greater than themselves , La Famille's members accomplish Breakthroughs Unknowingly.
i've seen how much it must mean to feel wanted , needed , belonged .. what a strong motivating force it can be .
i've also seen what i foresee to be a danger in misinterpretation , or to some , denial .

Let's address the last point first as i wish to see what the rest of La Famille has to say before i add anything .

Now , not unlike Paedophiles , Soothsayers and Distorters of Truth , the False Prophets , some might add ... and we're REALLY talkin about any Great Beliefs , Great religions here ... The initial Doctrines , Teachings , bestowed on by enlightened masters , teachers alike face this same problem ... When the Taught or students here reproduce or worst still , propagate the wisdom of these teachings or knowledge in their daily lives ... They inevitably change it to suit THEIR purpose at that moment they wish to use said teachings , inevitably with their own emotions thrown in .

I too , not unlike the Rest of everyone else there at project [Step up ] today , attended Mr Bernard Ho's Guerrila sales intensive training sessions . So i too recall , as i'm sure everyone does ... His empowerment which gave rise to reminders such as " i'm not obligated to anyone " or things like " i don't have to blame myself " even things such as "there's no need for me to feel sorry/ inadequate " .

I'm gonna go in for a longshot here and assume , as i will need to consult and clarify with him later , whether these sentences are to ReLEASE us from our personal shackles , our INCAPACITATING balls and chains . It's my guess that it's not to Release us TOTALLY from ANY guilt whatsoever in life when we suspect or half suspect that we've done wrong to someone or when that someone comes up to us and tells us how much our actions have hurt them .

No doubt that ttheir above-mentioned actions are ONLY a reflection of their emotions and themselves and i don't have to feel sad or troubled over it but maybe and just maybe Guilt , sorrow and Conscience protects us from repeating future actions that give rise to similar , if not exactly same scenarios .

Because ... so does Pain , Literally speakin .. Through our Natural self preservation impulsive response , we shy away from pain . Otherwise , whats to stop anyone from depriving a person of sleep , work , pay just because he's in a position to do so? What can we use in our Arsenal to stop a man from killing an innocent ? To dissuade him from pulling a trigger or jumping to his death with his hostage in a hostage situation ?

Not feeling Guilty and Not feeling any remorse can be argued by some , to be a gift embedded in the few , yet coveted by THE many ... perhaps THE all . Society and Psychologists have a name for these blessed people who feel absolutely nothing in cutting up a human being ? child ? or other cruel acts of torture meant to inflict as much pain as possible to their victims ... any guesses what they call all these gifted people ?

While this is a Reflection of just my feelings , no one needs to agree or Disagree with it .
Now let's presume i was in a position of influence , and i would like to call myself an influencer .
I'd like to think that my actions / inputs / behavior is important to someone and because of the fact that Lately , i've fallen into a Ditch in my work or life and i wear a frown consistently and someone comes up to me and asks out of concern is anything wrong ? well i can choose to do or say 2 things :

1) Mind your own biznez and Flick them off .
2) I'm troubled and i need help .

And presuming again and this is my take on the matter ... if lets say everyone REALLY did want to help ME out , help me realise why i couldn't do certain things that i used to or i think should be able to .
They set out , in all earnesty to show me their own methods for accomplishing the same thing i set out to do .

In this case , canvassing at 730 and missing my Famille's meeting because i feel i didn't do a good enough job so i wish to continue ... that's MY reason anyways .

They repeat same scenario for me , try to be in my shoes and all i need to do in return , is that i observe , best i can , their individual mannerisms , styles and effort .
Put simply They work i just eye power for the next 5 hours !

While these same , helpful family members of mine slog in the rain/sun tryin to prove to me that this career isn't that tough actually ... Maybe all i can repay them with is understanding and empathy ? a silent acknowledgement , a sombre realisation that my family is tryin to help me and show me that i can do this ?
i KNOW for a fact however , that all they want , is to see me happy and stop draggin that frown around ... and see me bring in the numbers that can make me proud and happy yet again in my work .

Maybe , in Retrospect , Esther could've tried to pretend to be "remorseful" , "feel a li'l bad" , " a li'l guilty " ... dare i ask ... " a wee bit Grateful " for everyone's concerted effort to push me , nudge me on ? Not answerin the phone like she's just had the very , very Bestest day in her life ? Full of energy , excitement and zeal ?
While the rest are tryin to cope with sickness , fatigue ?


But oh well , That's just me , and our job DOES requires us to answer like everything's peachy ... So the True question is would you have done things differently if you were in those same shoes ? or the same ? i wouldn't know about you guys ... but i know what i'd do .... I'd answer the phone later or " i'll call you later " ... even if i had to demonstrate the same gusto cos my job requires me to and "what a WONDERFUL day this has been !" mannerisms . i'd prbably wait till these tired guys and girl are no longer there for me to ... consciously or not ... rub their faces in it .
[ put bluntly ].

Perhaps we should all try this , "Guiltless cos it rewards nothing , no remorse cos it's counterproductive routine ? We'll have a lot of " why you wasting time here when your time has come and gone ??" , "you're a hasbeen " or "you're less productive than me , this family needs all the positivity it can get now so why don't you leave your frown at home ?or yourself for that matter ? you're spoiling my mood ."

Guilt , Remorse , Tears serves NO purpose ..... perhaps IF and ONLY IF someone repeats , reproduces said actions time after time , repeats frustrated looks and or complains time after time without an INTERNAL agreement to Fix and/or change standard , Quality of life .

Ask Bernard if he's got any Regrets , Felt any Guilt , entertained ANY Doubt over these past two years for ANYTHING , ANYTHING at all even if not related to work and i'm PRETTY sure ... The answer could be a ... " yes" ? After all , it's widely Believed that Tears are a Gift from a higher source ... It lets not just us ... But others Know ... that we're hurting .

STill ... Also can be exploited and used as weapon . kekekekeke !

Early Day , Makes sense .

Excerpts from my post this morning as i prepare to go for the games .

As a close friend has so kindly pointed out ... ANYONE .. can lead . just depends on the size of the group you wish to lead .And the manner in which you'd like to lead them . Bloggin , like snoggin , allows the rest of the famille insight to YOUR emotional wellbeing , keeps everyone else healthy as well ... Balanced .


Wing has been leading discipline , never coming late ONCE for anything called for by La Famille in the 8 months he's been here .


Lauren ? Dreams .

[ REALLY Livin this DREAM btw !!! ] She doesn't forget what she's in this career for ... She REAAAAALLY Stretches our imaginations, even mine own ... as to what one can accomplish in this career , shameful to say i have heard many times , scary productions and awe-inspiring ACtivities .. BUT i've yet to see it first hand .. History in the making is what we're witnessing here .


How can one forget if day AND night , that's all that she can think of ?... more or less .How truly , does one forget dreams and aspirations ?? you might ask ? when it doesn't come from within .
Your mind lends power to what your attention gives focus on .


If it's pain you're lookin out for , EXPECTING , it's INEVITABLY pain that you'll find .[ works well with betrayal , disappointments , fights , Discomfort , AILMENTS , aFFLICTIONS , quarrels etc etc ... ]


If it's a CERTAIN amount of success you're obsessed with Day and NIGHT , guess what ? That's what you'll get , the speed in it's attainment only , and i stress , ONLY depends on how much feeling you give to your emotions .


When one sees something or has been suggested something He/She might like to have ...it's EXTERNAL . When , however , the same situations makes that someone think " without attaining this ... i'd be better off dead" . or " My life has been for naught " or " i JUST KNOW i'd be miserable if all i amounted to was_________ "


Therein , a Leader is born . Truth then , i suppose to the myth that true leaders are " born ".


Not strange then , some find the greatest will to act or are soonest to act and BEST of all !! and this is classic ! Spares NO Effort and GO THRU the GREATEST lengths in the pursuit of " love" or what one perceives to be " love "~ how many people you know fold a thousand cranes to woo their Girlfriends , Boyfriends back in the school days ? Do you still think they're losers ? ... Anyone ? They're OBSESSED with the Dream of havin the target as partner . Takes lots of Discipline man ... even if you pay someone to do it ... it required wanting planning , dinnit ?


As an individual operating in a bigger field though... It's our duty to , well , as My dear Friend Lena Goh has so wisely pointed out :

AS i prepare myself to leave the office NOW for the games .. i notice it's raining .. What wonderful weather for a get together !!


People view rain differently too , don't they ?

Today Marks a TOTAL eclipse of the sun . Longest Duration and Magnitude in RECORDED history ? Today Leaders shall be born ... and the once mighty and certain shall crumble ... Heads up everyone ... This is a phenomenom that happens .... DAILY . Even the sun rises and sets .

Now then , is Success truly a Destiny ? Or a Discipline ? Or perhaps ... just perhaps .... a DREAM .

They who know the hows and whats will always work for they who know WHY .
